Methodology & Editorial Policy
Formulas first. Every calculator page publishes the exact formula it uses, a worked example with round numbers that readers can verify by hand, and a plain statement of what the model leaves out (fees, sequence risk, currency movements, local taxes, and similar).
Defaults are examples, not data. Pre-filled prices, yields and return assumptions exist so a calculator demonstrates itself immediately. They are labelled as examples on the page and must not be treated as current market data. Fund facts such as payment frequency are checked against the fund provider's published materials; general concepts are cross-checked against public investor-education sources such as Investor.gov (US Securities and Exchange Commission).
Corrections. If a formula or fact is wrong, we fix the page, note the change, and update the 'last updated' date. Readers can report errors via the contact page — please include the page address and the figure you believe is wrong.
Editorial independence. Content is written for readers, not advertisers or affiliate programs. This site does not accept payment to alter results, rankings or conclusions, and it does not publish sponsored articles.
Review cycle. Calculator pages and guides are reviewed at least annually, and sooner when a fund changes its distribution policy or a referenced rule changes.
